Our story
a little Pink Dream
Matcha-chan began as a girly café idea called Holly's Café, named after my sweet dog, and blossomed into a tribute to my Japanese and Chinese roots. Matcha itself began in China and was brought to Japan by the Zen monk Eisai in the 12th century. This brand is my way of honouring that blend.
I've always dreamed of a cosy pink café where everything is intentional and made with love. Fully self-funded and built from the ground up, every detail reflects my love for wellness, femininity and joy. I moved to Jakarta for love, and building this space gave me strength, purpose and something truly my own.
It's also a tribute to the women who raised me: my Obaachan, who embodied grace and timeless elegance; my Mah Mah, who taught me that cooking is connection and care; and my Mama, who showed me how to live with joy and care for my body from the inside out.
Our products are grounded in wellness-driven ingredients like ceremonial-grade matcha, stevia, sakura, spirulina, chia seeds and marine collagen peptides, all chosen to support beauty from within. As someone certified in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University, I create every item with love and care.
